goodbye unibrows

Alright ladies and gentlemen, Febrowary is officially over.  I hope you enjoyed growing long and bushy unibrows for charity.  Since March is upon us, you can now shave your unibrow to give you two distinct eyebrows- but why would you want to?  Nobody ever told Bert or Bob or Paul to get rid of their unibrows.

One final note- a unibrow is really just two eyebrows stuck together by some extra hair.  Imagine that, with just a little extra hair the two eyebrows become one.  May this message of peace and harmony transcend all facial bounds and we should all grow unibrows speedily in our days.

Peace Out!
-Joe

Another one for the Febrowary hall of fame! The "Acts of Paul and Thecla" part of the New Testament Apocrypha decribes the apostle Paul as (in the Syriac text): "... a man of middling size, and his hair was scanty, and his legs were a little crooked, and his knees were projecting, and he had large eyes and his eyebrows met, and his nose was somewhat long, and he was full of grace and mercy; at one time he seemed like a man, and at another time he seemed like an angel."

Thanks Rami!

Darling unibrow

Born in London, Alistair Darling is a British Labour Party politician who was an MP from 1987-2010.  He's been married twice and he likes listening to The Killers.  He is perhaps most famous for his killer eyebrows, which is growing dangerously close to a unibrow.  Several sources have reported that this brow was the only reason he was elected in the first place.
Alistair has served in several high-profile government positions and he has had a large part dealing with the British government's budget.  It is suspected that some of the budget money was misappropriated by Alistair and used to fund his brow.

Alistair is the first real-live brow so far, but his name seems to suggest that he ain't nothing but a cartoon.

Got it, Mr Darling?

Long Live King Bob's Unibrow

Our next famous unibrow comes from the most famous schoolyard monarch in recorded history, King Bob.  Famous from the hit show "Recess" King Bob wielded a hockey stick scepter and ruled on everyday issues that would arise during recess.  This is no easy task, and it it is believed that his superior wisdom is actually a result of his beautiful unibrow.  Rumor has it that by simply plucking one hair out of the brow, King Bob would lose both his wisdom and his power.
Long Live King Bob!!

Febrowary is upon us!

So Febrowary has began!  Good luck growing out your unibrows and raising money for charity.

The first famous unibrow I will showcase is the one above the eyes of beloved Sesame Street character, Bert.  Bert is kind and smart but is also easily frustrated.  He is perhaps best known for his performance in Bert and Ernie skits, and for being President of the National Association of W Lovers, a group passionate about the letter 'W'.  Bert enjoys watching pigeons and has several pet goldfish.
Most importantly, he sports a long black unibrow, in stark contrast to Ernie who has no eyebrows at all.

May Bert's unibrow inspire us all!

(also in the video is Bert's nephew Brad who, of course, has a unibrow as well)
